in queens there is Caffe on teh green in Bayside right off teh cross island its kind of $$ though.
for a little cheaper there is Giordinos on Douglaston parkway right off northern
In Li I have heard Cafe Grapa on hempstead turnpike is noice ( i actually know teh owners sister but never went there )
Baci on Old country road across from Eisenhoweer park
Stellas- on jericho in Floral park

its yummy and reasonably priced. its teh same owners as Cafe Spasso acrooss from Levitz on old country road. i always get the Penne caprese YUUUUMMMMMMYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Giordinos on Douglaston parkway is a great place - one of my favorites
Umbertos on Jericho Turnpike is another yummmmmy suggestion

Go to Tesoros in westbury. The food there is amazing. One of the owners is friends with my family and I. He's an actor. His last movie was Analyze That.

I was there once or twice. I remember liking it, although I don't remember the specifics! We go to a lot of italian restaurants with DH's family, and after awhile, a lot of them start to blend!

I love Ciao Baby, but it is not quiet and romantic- it is quite loud- but the food is great.
I also like Nick Diangelo's but they are more of an Italian chophouse. I think there is one in Long Beach now as well as in Merrick
