Levittown Eaves Question

Does anyone know if there are any other ways of running electric in a levittown cape that already has the eaves sheet rocked over? In my cape there is no way of getting into the eaves...In order for us to hang ceiling fans, or a chandellier will we have t break through the wall into the eaves or is there another way of doing it?
Thanks,
Scott

Re: Levittown Eaves Question

Hi Scott, my girlfriend lives in levittown in the W section and they had lighting put in the livingroom and they had to cut through the ceiling and the wall- it was a HUGE job and a MESS but so worth it, her house had absolutely NO lighting on the ceiling in the livingroom and dining room. Her house looked like a war zone b/c the way the beams ran too, they had to cut holes into the beams to run the wires to get to the wall for the switch! but like I said the after is BEAUTIFUL!!! She too has no access to her attic/eve, she wonders what the heck is it for, lol. GL.

Re: Levittown Eaves Question

wow it's completely covered!! it's so much free storage space why dont make a 3x3 little door so you can store some stuff in there holiday item etc... or you dont want to loose wall space so it in the back of a closet bg enough for your body to fit through so you can go back there and wire it up... thats what my dad did in our ranch growing up, also did u look in all closets upstairs? my bedroom closet had a trap door in it. it's toally strange there should be seomthign somewhere what if the pipes freeze or something? how would someone ever fix it? def think aobut the cloxset thing it came in real handy with holiday items and old baby clothes etc... and it's out of sight.... there is soooo much storage back there!! try and use it!!

Re: Levittown Eaves Question

We dont have any closets upstiars. The seller finished the upstairs after his father who lived there past away....So we will have to install a closet.....but we wanted to install a door to the eaves too. We couldnt understand why they would close up the eaves.
