Re: New Beginnings Annual Picnic

I'm in but I'm upset I didn't know about it until I saw a NB girl at Immigration getting her fingerprinting done on the same day and she said, "See you at the picnic!" Then I went home and went online to find out about it. Does anyone else find they're bad with communication? Chat Icon

Re: New Beginnings Annual Picnic

I only know of the picnic b/c at one of our classes it was mentioned, but not mentioned w/ a date & place. I looked on their website and looked for it, doubting it was posted, but found it in their calendar....

I just feel they should send us info in the mail; that's all. We shouldn't have to check on their website all the time to find out what's going on. JMHO.

We have gone to it the past two years. It is wonderful! Last year was H O T!!
Last year our sons SW from Korea was there visiting, along with a Foster Mother. It was so special for us to meet our sons Korean Social Worker. She was so sweet.

Chat Icon Chat Icon I'm just so used to getting things in the mail from NB saying I have to fill out this paperwork or that paperwork and I think I'm going through withdrawal in some sick kind of way. I run to the mailbox every day waiting for some kind of news from Immigration or NB and nothing lately. I am just running out of patience. I want my baby. I guess it's hitting me really hard bc of Mother's Day.

Susan,
(HUGS)
I'm sure you are used to NB's "No News is Good New's" TaglineChat Icon
Which I thought I would jump out of my skin, if I heard that one more time!!
Which BTW I do not know why they have to be one of the few agencies that give you no updates (at least with Korea) the whole process. So many other agencies get Well baby checks & photos throughout their wait.

Thanks for the hugs. Maybe it was Eastern that wasn't providing NB with photos rathar than NB not providing the adoptive moms with photos....or maybe it's up to the foster parents how often, if ever, they send photo updates? I'm not intending to bash NB in any way; I think I'd feel this frustration regardless of my agency because I am so eager to get my baby and being the detail-oriented, anal-retentive planner I am, I like to have EXACT timelines which I know isn't a possibility. At this point, the timeline is even out of the hands of NB. I'm just a control freak. Plus, I already have an entire nursery that's ready, with the bedding made, clothes in the drawers, and toys! Some might consider me insane, but I'm just so darn excited to meet my little guy (or girl.) Chat Icon

Re: New Beginnings Annual Picnic

I am currently w/another agency for my 2nd son, Love the Children, and I just got well baby check info from every month since he was born and 5 updated pictures of him from 2 wks ago. (My 1st son was NB, no updates or photos throughout the 18 mo process, except referral) They are also with Eastern in Korea. So I can't help with why NB does not give updates. I can understand they probably want to invest all their time on trying to get our babies home, and they are a great agency (minus the lack of communication).
Here is our current timeline with LTC:
1/30/06 Homestudy
3/7/06 Referral!!!
Currently waiting for our son to travel. Which could be the next 1-2 months.

I hope everyone hears some great news this week!!

Re: New Beginnings Annual Picnic

I know it sounds annoying to hear when you are waiting, but your child that is meant to be connected with you is going to find his way into your arms. So I would never want to speed up the wait with my 1st son, because it would mean the HE would not be the one in my arms!! AND I COULD NEVER imagine my life w/o him!! You will feel that way someday I PROMISE!!!!

I do have pictures, but they are on my PC and I am usually on my laptop. So I will get them on here soon!!Chat Icon
