Question about water breaking
I read that when your water breaks, your body continually replenishes is so that the baby is still immersed in amniotic fluid. My question is do you continue to "leak"? Do you need to wear a pad at that point? DH asked me this last night and I didn't know. I told him I would ask you ladies to get the answer.

Re: Question about water breaking
When my water broke I had to continually wear and change pads as they filled up.
I wasn't dialated or effaced when my water broke so my doctor had me go into the office first (I guess to be sure that was what was really happening).

Re: Question about water breaking
My water broke and it was a big flood! This is because he was breech and the head wasn't down to stop the flow. As I got ready and showered to go to the hosp, it was still coming out, but not as bad. I took a dishtowel and folded it between my legs like a maxipad and off we went. The towel was barely wet when I got there to get prepped for my c/s.

Re: Question about water breaking
I leaked at first - enough for a pad. But then I had one burst but I was at the toilet at the time. I wore double pads to the hospital and was ok. When I got the the hosiptal - I had a huge gush just as the dr examined me. It really depends. you can drip, leak, or gush.
