BTDT moms and toddler beds...
Ok.. I have had my son in his convertible crib for over a year and a half or so.. he is 2 and a half... and when we first put him in the toddler setting he was big enough to climb out of the crib, but too young to not fall out of the toddler setting.. and he would cry for hours, so we got him a side rail...
I bought him a toddler bed yesterday and last night was his first night in his big boy bed, as we want to start preparing him for the crib to be used for the new baby.. DH wanted to jusdt get him a twin size bed but I was petrified of him falling out -- Anywhoo..
My question is, how long did it take ur little one to not fall out of the toddler bed? What did you do to ease the transition?? .. Last night he was up about 8 times.. tonight he fell out once and cried for a little bit, and I checked on him an hour ago and he was out again.. I keep picking him up and putting him back in..
I just feel like the overreactive, overly hormonal mommy whos bummed cause her lil man is growing up!!
Any suggestions would be great!! TIA

Re: BTDT moms and toddler beds...
Depending on how her day goes, Maddie is ok with going to sleep in her bed alone (although it's sometimes bc joseph has snuck into bed with her) or I'll let her fall asleep in my bed & move her. She's been in a twin bed for a month or 2 (turned 2 in June).
I put another pillow along her side to keep her from falling out. Also I notice she'll wake up to bc she's wet her pull-up or if she's cold. So now I make sure she goes on the potty, limit fluids after dinner and cover her well before I go to bed.
Best to transition now - at his age it's better that he doesn't think his crib is going to the baby.

we arent really strict about staying in your own bed.....but my Kayleigh has never had a problem with falling out of the toddler bed it is staying there that is her problem. She always ends up calling for her Daddy and sleeping with him
