I would go for the LCD, not sure of brand, just keep hearing th eplasma does NOT have a long life span.

From what I've read so far it looks like picture quality is superb from a Plasma, but there are problems such as burn in screen..., they run hot and consume more energy, long term reliability is not known, some other TVs do better with fine details, color accuracy, etc. Plasma pricing looks substantial to LCDs.
In Consumer Reports Panasonic rates better for Plasma TVs and Sony rates better for LCD TVs.
There's tons of info about both in Consumer Reports online. Send me an FM if you don't have a subscription and want all the details.

Agreed. My DH is very against Plasma We are all about LCD

Unfortunately all I see is up to 32 inch. It looks like the larger screens are new?... Not sure though.
