Kind of sappy but overall sad
My DH worked with a woman about 10 years ago who was a little froot loop but very nice and sweet. She was also not in the best of health.
I befriended her and we would talk all the time. DH and I weren't engaged yet and she kept asking me when he was going to propose. I told her he was dragging his feet and he needed a push.
One day on their lunch hr she took him to a jewelry store to look at diamonds! She demanded he got off his butt.
Well a few months later he proposed. If it weren't for her I don't think he would have been pushed to do it. I guess he didn't know where to start...being very overwhelming.
I found out a week ago that she had passed away..
I was very said to hear this although I knew her for a short time. She was very instrumental in getting DH and I married! I bet she didn't even know how much she helped.
May she RIP.

Could you write a letter to his family telling him that story? I bet they would really appreciate it. I know that when my father passed I loved hearing funny stories about him from the people he had worked with over the years and the impact he had on them...... Just a thought....

That's a great idea. I wonder how I could get in touch with her family?
Check in newsday to see if there was an obituary. usually they list the names of family members. then maybe you could look them up on White pages.com or call the funeral home and ask for forwarding information. I am sure it would mean a lot to them to hear something as special as that.
