cleaning products.....
what cleaning products do you or can you use? I use windex and fantastick, and DH wants me to stay away from ALL cleaning chemicals. He wants me to go to Wild By Nature and get a cleaning product that has no chemical smell and is all natural. Is he being reasonable?? or paranoid??
What do you ladies use??

Re: cleaning products.....
Honestly - I use my normal cleaning products, I just wear gloves now and make sure that the room is well ventilated - that I'm not breathing in all of those fumes.
ETA - I think he's being paranoid, but my DH is the same way!!

Re: cleaning products.....
I stayed away from anything that had bleach in it the first trimester. Anything that has an overpowering smell might get you feeling sick to your stomach....not sure which ones are bad for you to inhale.
Make sure the room is well ventilated and you can always do a google search for natural cleaning products...I hear vinegar is a great one!

Re: cleaning products.....
I only use windex. DH(didn't want me w/ chemicals either)hired a cleaning lady until I give birth. I was having a hard time working, cooking and cleaning up after a 80 lbs beastdog. Before this I was opening windows and using gloves. DH is a keeper :)

Re: cleaning products.....
I worry about this too- I have a small kitchen with no windows. I usually only use the clorox wipes and my cleaning lady does the major cleaning. I did spray bug spray once or twice in the beginning of my pregnancy- but it was so noxious smelling, I stopped. But it still made me really worried- but I hope its all OK. At this point all I can do is pray. I'm sure our mom's never really worried about this stuff, and our grandparents definitely didn't.

Re: cleaning products.....
DH was really concerned about it, so he did all the cleaning while I was pregnant. It was really nice!

Re: cleaning products.....
I use/d windex and fantastik.. and my DH asked for the same thing.. So I took out my vinegar and started cleaning with that.. you'd be surprised how well it cleans the bathroom, (excluding mirrors!) and tile floors... Removes a lot of old buildup from chemical cleaners.. Either way I used gloves, because i didnt want to smell like easter eggs the resto of the day! My MIL got a couple of cleaning products that were au natural, but I dont remeber which ones.. she used to love them.. GL and HTH!!!

Re: cleaning products.....
From a Chemist's point of view, a lot of things have "chemicals" that you use and probably don't even realize (nail polish, nail polish remover, dish soap and so on.) Household chemicals are safe, providing you follow the directions on the bottle.
