Re: What do you clean your harwood floors with??
I recently came across an article on this topic. They said you should NOT clean with ammonia or vinegar (the acide can etch the finish, making it dull and hard to clean).
They suggest cleaning with a vacuum regularly. Wipe away sticky spills with a damp cloth and then rub with a clean, dry cloth until the area is dry.
It also mentions that water is the enemy. You should never wet-mop since that can put far too much water into the floorboards.

Re: What do you clean your harwood floors with??
I just found an awesome product for our hardwood. Its by Bruce and its a spray bottle cleaner and WIDE terrycloth mop. Makes cleaning the floors SO easy! No dirty water, no wet floor...
got it at Home Depot.

What was that product... Old English or something. It had the commercial where the ladies where cleaning wood and you see they did all the pews in the church... I cant remember if Old English was it.

I got a great product allso at Home Depot(EXP0) It is called Bona swedish hardwood cleaning system. It has a microfiber "mop" and a spray bottle cleaner. It was 25 bucks! but is sooo worth it. It is in the back by the tile and floor medallions.

The swiffer wets are the ones that I use...they're made specially for wood floors. I don't think you should listen to the woman at work...I've been using them on my floors for over a year and so far no problems.

Re: What do you clean your harwood floors with??
i used the sifferwet, and if it is humid,it makes it horribly sticky, then i used vinegar and water, and it was better. mostly i just use the dry swiffer to dust, but i am still looking for the perfect cleaner, will try the home depot recomendations.

this is the same as the Bruce system I mentioned - Bruce markets Bona under their name also.

A damp mop with vingear.
I know it sounds gross, but you can see the difference.
