Weight Watching Moms...

Monkeybride I know you were going to make the post -- but I was up early with Emily and now she's sleeping again so I figured I'd do it while I had time...

All of those who are participating -- you can post your weekly numbers here. Also maybe we can all discuss this Thanksgiving thing? I'm personally getting frightened!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Weekly Loss: -1.4 lbs
Total Loss: -63.6 lbs. (this includes my pre-preg loss and my post-partum loss -- I'm subtracting it all from my highest weight because that's when I first started ww, just paused it due to the pregnancy!)

It turns out I'm making Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday -- so of course I want to go all out becuase it's my first Thanksgiving where i'm doing all the cooking. And I KNOW I'll be picking on the food as I'm cooking it -- so I'm thinking I should cut up a ton of extra veggies w/ fat free ranch dressing for dip so that if I am tempted to pick on things I can pick on that all day.

How are you all planning to survive it? What is your game plan?

Re: Weight Watching Moms...

Im not doing WW but Im on a mission to loose the 26lbs I have left over from Emma and Jeremy and then some. Even though Ive been doing great I feel off the wagon this weekend but am back on 4 days before ThanksgivingChat Icon Chat Icon

At dinner I plan on sticking to the veggies and turkey, LIMITED amounts of potatos and other high fat/carb items. Desert Im brining a fruit bowl if not for anyone else for me. You could also just fill up on fresh veggies (without dip) before eating dinner so your not as hungry.

Re: Weight Watching Moms...

This is weird because I was REALLY bad yesterday. I used like 12 flex points, that's how bad I was. It was football day and there is just always so many snacks around because my DH's cousin and a few friends come over and they watch the game together...so chips, wings, etc.

Yet I stepped on the scale this AM and I'm like 4 lbs less then yesterday morning. Bleh!

So Marissa -- I have said this before, I seriously believe in having some high point days -- you need it to keep your metabolism on it's toes.

Once AF is dwindling down weigh yourself becuase it might not be as bad as you think!

You must have read my mind Melissa with everyone talking about what their Thanksgiving plan is.

I was down 3.5 this week. I was hoping for more since its my first week but hey a loss is a loss. I know once I add some activity in that will help.

Miranda is fussing for some more food so I'll write out what I am going to try to do for Thanksgiving when I get a free minute.

Thanks for starting the thread.

Re: Weight Watching Moms...

I was hoping to lose more my first week too -- 1.4 is kind of pathetic for week 1 -- last time I did ww I lost 10.8 my first week buti t was also the summer so I was swimming/walking a lot and I was 60 lbs heavier so you always lose faster the bigger you are.

Congrats on the 3.5! That is so awesome!

The good thing about having Thanksgiving at your own house is that you can control the cooking and what is served.
Here's our menu:
artichoke dip and crackers
cheese/pepperoni/cracker tray

turkey
stuffing
mashed potatoes
corn and green beans
homemade baked mac n cheese
fried cauliflower
biscuits and corn bread
cranberries

apple pie
french silk pie
pumpkin pie

My plan is to make myself a batch of mashed potatoes with chicken broth because its low in points and its dairy free. I can't have the mac n cheese which is a good thing because that is a downfall but if I was I would get out my measuring cups. I will have to do that with my stuffing because I can eat stuffing like there is no tomorrow.
I am going to try to save a lot of my flex for Thursday and before we sit down to eat I am going to figure out the points for the food I want for the portion I want. I am not going to skip dessert but the only dessert I can have is apple pie (mrs. smith's) because its dairy free. Again that's a good thing because it forces me to exercise control.
I think the key to success is going in with a plan that allows you what you want that day instead of trying to deprive yourself and to also remember there will be leftovers, we don't have to shove it all in that day.

Re: Weight Watching Moms...

I also plan on having out my food scale because I always under-estimate my serving sizes. The other night I actually started measuring and I was actually able to have more then I thought!!
