NEW JOB ANXIETY

Hi,

So in a few weeks, I'll be leaving my current job and starting a new job. I have met some great people at the job I've been at for the past 2 years, and am sad to leave them... DH and I moved to FL 2 years ago, and all the friends I've made so far are pretty much from my current job.... i'm sure I'll stay in touch with them, but it's scary to have to start somewhere new where you don't know anyone...

Also, i'm going to have a lot of responsibility at my new job and I'm nervous about living up to their expectations! DH is always telling me not to doubt myself and so on... He's really supportive and wonderful! I'm just wondering, any of you start a new job lately? How'd you deal with the anxiety?

TIA!

Re: NEW JOB ANXIETY

the way i deal with it is I remember the first day of my last job and remember how scared/nervous I was that i'd be terrible and not be able to do it- and how now I can do it and I'm an expert at so many things! That always makes me calm down.

I've been in your shoes before and it's definitely stressful. I just tried to not think about it so much and to just go with it. I felt the more and more I dwelled on things, the more anxious I would get. Also, sounds like you've already been in this situation before by moving to Florida. Sounds like you tackled a new state, new job and making news friends before. I'm sure you'll be fine. Best of luck to you with your job. I'm sure you'll exceed their expectations!

I haven't been in your shoes, but I want to wish you lots of Good Luck...Just say to yourself that you can do it! And you can. I was nervous when I started the job of where i'm at and now 10 years later I know this place like the back of my hand...it's so scary...

Re: NEW JOB ANXIETY

I hate change, so anytime something new comes along such as a new job, move, etc. I get really worked up. I just keep telling myself that it will get better and that I am not looking at the whole picture when I freak out. Just try to take it one day at a time. Good Luck Chat Icon
