The Tin Man I married
What the h3ll is wrong with my husband? I'm so angry right now.
He called to see how I was feeling, blah, blah, blah...I say to him, "Hey do you remember so&so's neighbor? The guy I used to date? He just emailed me. He was ALS!"
What do you think would be an appropriate response?? Maybe "That's horrible!" or "Oh my god!" - you know something of the sort... what did my husband respond with?
"Why is he emailing you?" Apparently now he's angry with me.
If he only had a heart...

To be honest, I'd probably ask why he was emailing you too! Unless you talk to him on a regular basis, or have spoken to him a few times since you broke up...

If it makes you feel better, my husband would have had the same response!

I was thinking the same thing. While it's certainly sad to think of anyone suffering, I would wonder why he contacted you to let you know this. (Assuming it was actually out of the blue and simply to make you aware of his situation.)

Yes ALS aka Lou Gehrig's Disease.
He knows I see him on the train every so often - and that I've talked to him & his wife.
He emailed me so I didn't hear about it through our mutual friends but heard directly from him.

Well then it's not at all weird that he emailed you...but DHs are silly and jealous sometimes. I wouldn't let it bother you.

Men sometimes really sux at reacting to serious situations. He probably felt like an azz for the way he reacted but was to embarassed/stubborn to apologize. Men.

Re: The Tin Man I married
as a man, i would also question why he was emailing you too
it's a sad situation, but any time an ex gets in contact, i would question the motive
