TTC AND LOSING WEIGHT
I saw that some of you guys are banning together, but right now I want to have a baby...like now..like I'm trying now...
I know that I am very overweight and need to lose at least 50 lbs(and I'm not exagerating) but I really want to have a baby now.
What should I do. Should I wait a little while, or can I get pregnant and have a normal pregnancy??

Re: TTC AND LOSING WEIGHT
I have a friend that is extremely overweight and had a prefectly normal pregancny, delivery and healthy baby. I think you should do your best to keep yourself healthy, but I wouldn't wait solely based on your weight. If you have other medical problems that could affect your pregnany, maybe that would be a consideration. But otherwise, I'd go for it. I would just be extremely dedicated to eating healthy during pregnancy and not gaining more than 25 pounds or so...or whatever the minimum amount recommended by your doctor.
I actually am thinner now then I was before I got pregnant...you'd be surprised how running after a toddler burns calories.

Re: TTC AND LOSING WEIGHT
This is an interesting question. I wonder if it is healthy to "diet" while TTC. I read that certain diets - restricting carbs in particular - make it harder to conceive. But, otherwise, I wonder if it would be ok to just eat healthy and less while TTC or if that would be bad for the baby?

Re: TTC AND LOSING WEIGHT
I have 2 friends that had babies VERY heavy (over 200 lbs and each and under 5'6") One had PCOS and had a healthy (but premie) girl the other now has two healthy babies- gained something like 12 pounds throughout both pregnancies, etc.
I am 20 lbs overweight- my dr. really wants me to lose- but she's been saying that for 1 1/2 years- and I try and am still trying...
I try to eat the best I can- i try & eat NOTHING from a can or mix- everything fresh the way it is grown in nature- no excessive sugars and no artificial sweeteners (no more diet coke )
So- who knows what she will say today when I go back... but I am doing my best.

Re: TTC AND LOSING WEIGHT
i think that you can get pregnant and have a healthy pregnancy as long as you have no underlying medical conditions. you may just have to be more aware of how much you gain during your pregnancy. good luck

Re: TTC AND LOSING WEIGHT
as long as there are no medical issues to be concerned with...and that is for anyone TTC...I think that you should go ahead and BD...and at the same if you feel up to it...you can change your eating patterns to a healthier life style while TTC. Lots of ~~~~~~~Baby Dust ~~~~~~~~to you
