mucous plug question

is losing your mucous plug a tell tale sign of labor to come in a few days?

this probably sounds stupid, so i'm sorry! i'm just trying to figure out what to REALLY look for when the time comes.

did anyone not realize they lost it? or did they lose it too soon and labor was still some time away?

Re: mucous plug question

I never realized I lost it. Pretty sure it's not there since I have 2 kids though...

Only telltale signs of labor to come that I know of are contractions that don't stop.

I had major pressure when I walked (like the baby was going to drop out).

Re: mucous plug question

I was never sure if I lost mine. I got up in the middle of the night once and thought I heard something and felt like things changed but was too lazy to turn on the lights and check it out. After that my discharge changed big time but it was a 1-2 weeks before my water broke (3 weeks early).
