Hi, i'm a newbie to this topic...have a silly silly question!

when do you ovulate.....before or after AF? i'm completly new to the whole TTC. we actually aren't yet but hoping to in the next few months. thanks for any info you can provide.

Basically you ovulate approximately 2 weeks before your AF is due, give or take a few days.

Best book to read is Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler :)

Depends on how you look at it....

It's usually somewhere in the middle of your cycle, so I guess 'technically' it's after your pd, bc you start counting from your first day...but it's also about 2 weeks before your next period.

Best bet IMO is to buy an OPK to find out exactly when you ovulate. GL!

Also a big thing that helps me is cervical mucous. Now this may be TMI.....


After you go to the bathroom around day 10(first day of your period is day 1) start looking at the toilet paper for an egg white type discharge. It may appear clear, whitish, or shiny and somewhat irridescent. This is fertile cervical mucous and helps both to keep sperm alive and helps it travel to the right spot. You should have sex every day you see this or every other day. Hope that helps
