Holiday Gifts for Day Care Providers
For those of you who have their children in Day Care Facilities, what do you give your child's provider as gifts?
There are 4 or more teachers in my daughter's room and I'm not sure what to give.

Anyone?
I'll even take opinions from teachers who receive gifts from parents. Let me know what you like, don't like, etc.
I like to give cash or manicure/pedicure something the teachers can use. But when you have multiple people, what do you give?

Re: Holiday Gifts for Day Care Providers
I am having the same dilemma. There is one main lady that takes care of them but there can be as many as 5.
I like the manicure idea but I think most people prefer cash. But how much?

Re: Holiday Gifts for Day Care Providers
I'm not sure on the amount either because where my daughter goes, she's been with 4 people for about 6 months and then they moved her up and she's now with 4 new people so that's 8 total.
I love the women that care for her and I'd love to show my appreciation, however, I don't want to go to the poor house over it. We're paying a fortune to send her there to begin with.

Re: Holiday Gifts for Day Care Providers
when I did this in high school, a lot of people gave me an ornament that opened up with $20 bucks inside. I was a teenager, so anything I was grateful for! I would definitly say cash, you cant go wrong with it.
One time I got a bracelet, I think I lost it immediately but still a nice thought.

Re: Holiday Gifts for Day Care Providers
gift cards are nice...starbucks, barnes & noble, target are always good. i used to work as a speech therapist in a preschool and the parents always gave something to the teachers and the assistants as well. if you don't want to spend a lot of money you could always make homemade cookies and wrap them up. little gift sets from bath & body works are always popular gifts too.

Gift cards - but not from the mall - because they charge ridiculous fees for things like checking balances, etc. I get them from a store I know they like - usually Abercrombie.

Re: Holiday Gifts for Day Care Providers
I am a teacher and I get SO many teacher-type gifts each year -- like mugs, personalized bags, stuff like that. Personally that kind of stuff I'd rather not get at this point because I have so many of them it's hard to keep them all. As far as gifts that are great --- treats are always good, like cookies, chocolates, etc. And I think gift certificates to anything -- be it manicures, stores, etc are always welcome. I also got a GREAT gift one year -- my best gift ever. The child's grandmother was crafty -- and she took a place mat and sewed it so that it folded tri-fold with pockets ... sewed ribbon around it so you could tie it shut -- and stuffed it with blank note cards and thank you cards and a fancy pen -- it was the most awesome gift. I used all the thankyou/note cards to write thank yous to my students and still have it now and refill it whenever I buy thank yous and stuff. It's a nice little organizer for thank yous and teachers use a lot of them!

Re: Holiday Gifts for Day Care Providers
I saw beautifully decorated boxes of truffles at Sam's club the other day. They were in gorgeous colors...who wouldn't like chocolate truffles?
Here's a picture. I believe the smaller boxes were $9.99 and the larger $19.99?Truffle Boxes
