In-home Childcare or Fulltime sitter
Is anyone planning to bring their baby to an in home child care? How did you find the provider?
I'm also looking into the possibility of a full time sitter (nanny?) to come to our home...does anyone have any recommendations or suggestions as to where I can look?
We had our child care plan pretty much worked out but now I'm having second thoughts and I'm looking into other options. I would much prefer someone to come to our home than to have to take the baby out... at least for the first year.

Are you interested in an Au Pair. Basically, these girls come from other countries as nannies and their host family pays them and sponsers them for citizenship. Even from Canada!

Re: In-home Childcare or Fulltime sitter
I called the Nassau County Childcare Services and they sent me a list of daycares. We choose an in house daycare. The ratio is better than a regular daycare. 2:1 for infants. I felt safer picking that than having someone in my home alone with the baby. There are a lot of people in the place we picked and lots of kids. I guess my thought was safety in. numbers. Plus the owners actually live in our town and have for 25 years.
