Please help with NYC bar recommendations!
Hi,
I'm planning my best friends bach party...she is a lot like me-want a bar atmostphere that isn't too jam packed (where we could sit and have beers if we wanted) but also some dancing...does any place like this exist?
Also..if not that, at least a cool bar to get some beers at before heading off to a club..I'm pretty sure we're heading to culture club later on, but wanted a good old pub/bar to hit first that could be fun. Thanks for any suggestions you have!!! (i'm planning this from virginia, haven't been out in NYC for a while!)

They don't have dancing, but Vintage on 9th Ave. in the 40's is a nice atmosphere. I believe that you can have them set up the back portion of the bar for your party and they don't require anything.

I like Off the Wagon, it is a nice crowd and a fun atmosphere.

Sessions 73 -- it's on First & 73rd. It's loungy on side with cocktail tables, low chairs etc. The other side has a bar. Everytime I have been there, they hada good band that plays a great mix of music with a decent sized dance floor. It does get crowded but not until after midnight.
Session 73
There are tons of pub type places in the area -- Flanagans on 65th & First comes to mind.
