Expiration Dates You May Not Even Know About
Non-Edible Products Can Go Bad As Well.

NEW YORK (CBS) Most shoppers pay attention to the expiration dates found on perishable food items such as milk and cheese. Few would think to also look for expiration dates on common household items though.
Non-edible products can go bad as well. For instance here are several items that may have a lower shelf-life than you would come to expect:
Glass Cleaner - 2 Years
Mouthwash - 3 Years
Bar of Soap - 3 Years
Dish Detergent - 1 Year
Air Freshener - 2 Years
Bleach - 3-6 Months
Beauty products are also very suspect to expiration. Foundation and lipstick are only good for two years. Mascara is very susceptible to bacteria as well.
"Bacteria can get into the tube and fester there," says Elizabeth Wells from 'Real Simple' magazine, "so after about 3-4 months you just want to throw it away."
With the proper storage of items they may last much longer.
"Keep things stored in a dry area at a stable temperature," says Wells, "use common sense."
The one beauty item that has no expiration date is fingernail polish remover.

 I think that if you've had the same windex, soap, bleach, etc around 2+ years you need to clean more...

I'm going to have to agree with that! Unless you buy it in crazy amounts. I have to admit though that I have some mascara that's been around for more than 3-4 months. Looks like I have an excuse to buy some new mascara!

Also fragrances are said to spoil after about a year. The oils tend to break down over time, changing the fragrance.

hmmm, I buy the huge Bulk ones at Costco....they last me about a year. I guess its just a waste of $$ then

that one shocked me too! i rarely use bleach b/c it gives me a headache, so it totally lasts wayyyyyy beyond the expiration date with me
