Closing Cost Surprises? (Repost from LIW)
What, if any, costs did you have to pay at closing that either weren't on your GFE or that surprised you?
Was anything signifigantly lower or higher from what was listed on GFE?
Did you have to pay seller for oil in tank or anything else like pre-paid taxes or services?

The GFE should be right on the money (or pretty damm close).
The only thing that should change from the GFE is the mortgage interest you have to pay... depending on what day of the month you close.

We had to pay for the sewer bill and for the oil and gas left in the tanks - it wasn't much; maybe 300.00 max.
These were known expenses, you just don tkno whow much they are going to be until the day.
