Maternity Clothes - becoming a wear tester
How horrible for me to have forgotten this & never posted. The Gap post reminded me.
When I was first pregnant I wrote to Gap Maternity & offered to be a "wear tester". At 8 months (the beginning of fall & dreading buying another season of clothes for a few months), I received a HUGE box of free Gap Maternity sweaters, pants, etc. I had to take notes on what I liked, didn't like, how well it washed, if it was comfortable, etc.
Just a thought for the newly pregnant...my sister's friend had her kids as Old Navy testers...hmm...I guess I'll have to go write them...

Oh, my sister could totally benefit from this! Where did you get the address? My sis is 5 months pregnant and at the beginning of her pregnancy she spent a fortune on new clothes, mostly from gap maternity. Now she's grown so much that she needs like 2 sizes larger and all those clothes don't fit anymore, but she's annoyeda bout having to buy new ones. I bet she'd love to be a tester!

Re: Maternity Clothes - becoming a wear tester
You write the corporate office. I'll see if I still have the address. It took awhile to send the clothes. I was signed up at 4 months. I wouldnt' just limit myself to Gap if I were to get pregnant again - I would try any maternity clothes manufacturer.
Update: I cant find the address. For Gap it was a San Francisco address. I would call the 800 number for the company to track it down.
Also forgot to mention -not sure if anyone cares about it - the inside of the clothes are stamped in red with "SAMPLE".

Re: Maternity Clothes - becoming a wear tester
i called the corporate number since there is a 4 hour time difference. i was given a customer relations number and than transfered to an agent. He said he is not aware of this program currently, dont know if they do it anymore, he said they outsource all of their vendors and unless you contact the vendor they do not know of this. let me know if anyone else has a better experience or gets an answer. Thanks.

Re: Maternity Clothes - becoming a wear tester
Wow...this would have been a great thing...but, it's too late for me now...I'll never get the clothes on time. But, I will keep this in mind for the future.
And for the girls who can still sign up for this...it seems like a great opportunity so, get to writing those letters!!!!
Good Luck!

Re: Maternity Clothes - becoming a wear tester
Rather than talk to an agent - see if you can get transferred to product development or something along those lines. That was the address I had to write to...I remember the Folsom part.
I just read NY Magazine that featured a clothing designer for infants - and she mentioned that she doesn't have any kids...I'm thinking - you must make those stupid little shirts without buttons so we need to twist our baby's arm to get them in. See someone like this would never get that a 2 year old can't have buttons on their pants because they're potty training. They need people like us!

Maybe, but than again - I could only wear the clothes I got for 2 weeks because I delivered early. You can always save for the next one...

Re: Maternity Clothes - becoming a wear tester
I e-mailed Old Navy about it and they responded with actually applying online or in the nearest store. Just thought you'd all like to know
