NYC Aquarium
How is it? Is it worth it? Hard to get too via a car? Looking in to stopping somewhere with the kids on our drive down to LI at the end of the month.
Anything in Northern Jersey off the 80? Last year we stopped at the Bronx Zoo and it was nice to break up the drive.

Re: NYC Aquarium
It was okay, I went about 4 years ago. A lot of the outdoor exhibits were closed because it was raining. I expected it to be bigger. Nothing compares to the Bronx Zoo...I love it.
The Bronx Botanical Gardens are also really nice! it is right by the zoo.
You have to take the CI to the Belt Parkway, It is pretty far south so if you are heading north I would think it is out of your way to go to Brooklyn.
ETA- NY hall of Science is great for the kids. I took my class there. It is right off the LIE by Shea Stadium. They even have a preschooler area.

I was just looking up about the Botanical Gardens.
Okay, what's the CI? (I'm not from Long Island.)
Which exit is the NY hall of Science?
TIA for your help!

Cross Island. We're probably heading the Botanical Gardens in the next week or so for the Orchid Show. They have a Vanilla & Chocolate Adventure exhibit for the kids (Vanilla is made from orchids).

I think the exit for NY hall of science is in the teens if not twenties. Where are you coming from and where are you heading? (if you don't mind me asking)
If you take the Triboro Bridge down it will be on your way to LI!

I can't wait to take Jared to the aquarium! He loves looking at daddy's fish at home, so I can just imagine how he would love it there!!

Thanks Barbara and Alexia. I knew that, just forgot.
We live in Buffalo and are heading to Glen Head. We don't take the Triboro, but the Throgs Neck.

Re: NYC Aquarium
Throggs Neck...no the Hall of Science is not really on the way. You would have to head back towards Queens and Manhattan (if you don't min) and then back out ot LI. Maybe about 8-10 exits back towards QUeens. Can't think of any place else..
