Weekend to trip to Canaan near Albany...
Does anyone know of anything fun to do in Albany or some really good restaurants?

The NYS Museum is neat, though it's been a while since I've been there. And the area where the government buildings are is fun to walk around- like DC but on a much smaller scale.
There also used to be a fabulous Mexican place called El Loco. Don't know if it's still there but it had great food.

There is a casino up in Utica NY which is about 1 1/2 hours North of Albany. It's called Turning Stone Resort Casino. Stayed there last week for a business trip and it was pretty nice. I should mention it's a dry casino so if you want to drink bring your own:)
