Anyone convert from oil to gas heat?

We're thinking about converting to gas heat from oil. Our oil burner is pretty old and will need to be replaced in the next year or so, and it will cost about the same to convert to gas as to get a new oil burner. We already have a gas line to the house for our stove.

The main reason is that we don't have a basement, so our boiler is in a room off our den. Last month it needed servicing and the whole house stunk of oil. We were really concerned about Sarah inhaling noxious fumes, and know that gas heat is much cleaner burning.

Anyone convert and love it? Regret it? Thanks!

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!

Our boiler room is on the lower level....right in my parents place and my mom couldnt stand the smell or the mess of the puff back.

for us, our oil burner was on its last legs and we had an underground tank that we wanted to get rid of, so it was just wasier to do everthing at one time!!

we has it done 3 years ago this May and it was the best thing we did for the house!!Chat Icon

let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks! We have the same exact situation, underground tank and old, old boiler, so if we're going to do it, seems like this year would be it. I'll let you know if anything comes up when we get closer to doing it!
