Deed vs. Title - any lawyers around?

So, I was going thru all of our closing documents in order to fill out the STAR application.

In looking thru the papers, I see that the deed that the seller signed (only the sellers) has the wrong address on it. The location description with all the coordiantes is correct, but the section where it says "Premisis known as (street)" is incorrect. The title, title insurance, etc and every other piece of paper has the correct address and location description on it.

I can't file for STAR because I assume they are going to reject it because it has the wrong address on it. I called my lawyer - and he said he is going to check with the title company, but a week later he has not gotten back to me.

While it stinks that I cant file for Star, I'm more concerned that we really dont own the house, or something fun like that.

Are there any lawyers out there with any input? I dont understand how going to the title company is going to fix my deed. I searched and read about deeds and titles on Wikipedia, but I'm not sure that I'm clear.

I'm really pi$$ed at my lawyer - first for the fact that I can never get a callback.. and second of all, how the h3ll did he miss this! (We never signed the papers, so its not like we missed it, they just got thrown in a pile that was handed to us after it was over...)

Cal the title company. Their name should be all over the paperwork. Ask them. Also I would still apply for the Star I didn't need a deed. I forget what I had to bring but call your town and ask what you need to bring

When I applied for STAR I dont recall needing to send in any additional information besides the form. I also suggest going straight to the title company.

The town asks for the deed if you are the new homeowner - they checked in the computer there and my home is still listed in the old owners name (the official title paperwork hasnt gotten to them yet)
