Another telling boss question...Long sorry..
Little background-Since we conceived immediately following my m/c in July, when we found out we were pg again in august, my dr immediately sent me for an array of bloodwork and dr visits, so I had to tell my boss I was pregnant again since I am a property mgr and she isnt on site, I need to let her know when I will be off site.
So she knows I am pg, but we have not discussed any terms regarding my leave or coming back with a different schedule. The only thing she knows, is that I do plan on coming back after my leave.
When should I address the other issues with her? Should I wait further into the pg?And should I start writing my terms in the form of a letter so I have written documentation of our conversation?

There should be some sort of maternity/leave policy (if offered by your employer) in writing. I would talk to her about it, maybe after your level II sono or after the holidays? Maybe let her know you want to talk about it and ask her what day/time is good for her. That will give her the heads up and time to prepare. Good luck!!!

My boss only knows that i am taking 12 weeks off. She doesnt know that I wont be returning.. but she is an evil evil wretched woman, so i am purposely not telling her until I give my 4 weeks notice while out on maternity leave. I would maybe wait till you are a little further along in the pg and then discuss things with her. I dont know about getting it in writing unless she is known to maybe go back on her word about things. Good luck

I think that it is entirely up to you. So many people plan to go back to work right after their maternity leave and then don't have the heart to leave their baby. Someone at my job did this, and during her leave, she came in and told them she needed to work out a different schedule, etc. Good luck with your decision!
