At what point would you decide to leave your job
for financial reasons?
For example, if you have a job that you are happy at and is very secure, how bad would the pay have to be for you to leave?

where I was literally just making it with the bills.....i.e. no extra $ for 401k, savings, etc.

Without another job...I wouldn't leave at all. Unless you are leaving for a reason where you won't be working FT in that field. I think it's easier to get a new job when you have one...then to explain to a perspective employer why you left your last one and have a gap on your resume.

Hmmm...for me the pay can be compensated w/ great health insurance coverage. I would decide to leave if :
A. I had a good back up job B. Won the Lotto
