PLEASE HELP -- Any ideas for a good Communion gift???
We're going to a first communion for a girl and I'd rather get a gift than give money. Maybe around $30. Any ideas?
(normally I'd give more, but for certain circumstances, we're only doing 30)

I was going through some old books I had and saw a really pretty First Communion book that allowed me to write stuff in it and post pictures. I LOVED it, and I loved looking back at it. Maybe something along these lines? I'm sure they sell something like them at a good Hallmark store or a catholic store.

If you go to a religious store or card store, you can get a little preciosu moments figurine or cross for around that price.
Actually a religious story will have a LOT of ideas

A children's bible or children's books on the life of the saints is sometimes a good idea, depending on the child.

TY for all the suggestions! I have a lot to to on now! 
I don't really want to get a cross or something a godparent would probably get....
I like the First Communion book idea - is that like a scrapbook or journal?
I'm also considering getting her the same bible that is my favorite- a little pink Precious Moments one.
My coworker also suggested nice rosary beads.

Yea, its definitely like a cross bet. a scrapbook & journal.
There is a religious store in the Roosevelt Field Mall.

Walsh-Connelly is a Catholic store in Hempstead, don't know if the selection is better than Roosevelt Field, but I think the prices are. I was looking at a communion set over the weekend at the place in the mall and almost went

There is one right across the street from St. Rose of Lima church in Massapequa. Turn at the light right at the corner of the church (You can only turn one way) and the store is right there on the right hand side. I happen to stumble upon it when looking for a christening gift.
I think the precious moment bible or fuguring would be very nice and they are about $30.

Honestly, I think a silver bracelet is the way to go.
Try macy's sale prices - use the coupon, they're usually pretty good.
A figurine will sit on a shelf and gather dust...I'm all about buying kids things they'll use.
