Closing/Contract question
After you get the inspection report, I know that you want to get the contracts signed ASAP so you don't lose the house. Once the contracts are signed is there a specific amount of time that you have to close in or is it just what you agree on and stipulate in the contract?

Re: Closing/Contract question
you have 30 days from the "on or about date" of closing to actually close. for example, our closing date is 8/15, but we wont close until 8/24 (we hope). so if you want to be in a house say by oct 30, put your closing date for 10/1. chances are you wont close on the actual date written in the contract.

Re: Closing/Contract question
You usually are given 30 days to secure a mortgage, then the actual closing depends on what the two parties agree to - ASAP, 60 days, 4 months, etc.

I believe we had 45 days to secure a mortgage.
