Baby bedding opinions requested

If you don't know what you're having, did/would you choose bedding that is gender-neutral, or would you register for one of each and return whichever you didn't need, or just wait until the baby is born and then buy what is appropriate?

I registered for a pattern that I thought was gender neutral. But the more I look at it, the more I think it is more "boy". So, I have been looking for "girl" bedding sets now, figuring I should have a back-up planned.

We are going to paint the baby's room lilac on the bottom, and light green on the top, with a white rail and the border that matches the bedding in the middle.

Please tell me what you think, and also give your opinions on these bedding sets. The first pic is the one I registered for, and the next 2 are the "girl" sets I'm considering.

The third pic needed resizing. Here it is. I can't figure out how to get it bigger so you can see it but here is a link to a bigger pic.

I really like the first one. I love soft colors for a baby's room. Bright and bold can be overstimulating for a new pair of eyes. When i see pastels, i think new baby.
The second one is really cute, but i would use something like that when the baby was a little older. Its ok to have more than one crib set, i liked to have a clean one on hand at all times.

Re: Baby bedding opinions requested

We don't know what we're having so we went gender neutral with yellow and green. I think the first set looks like the safest bet out of the three. Here's ours...
