Controlled Crying update
So Noah has been sleeping in my room from day one and we decided that at six months he was being evicted into his own room. Well that weekend was this weekend! So we put up black out curtains in his room and Saturday night, in he went! We chose Controlled Crying as our method and we prepared ourselved for the night ahead. We were expecting it BAD.
So 7 pm comes around and the kid has his bath, his bottle and then...the dreaded bedtime! I put him in the crib awake and he SCREAMED! We left the room and went into our bedroom...we left him screaming for 5 minutes, I went in to see him, he was not happy...another 10 minutes went by, I comforted him, then 15 minutes...I went in to comfort him and he was still crying. I went back into our bedroom and after about 3 minutes. Nothing. Not a sound. Not a dickie bird. I waited another 10 minutes and went in...ASLEEP. Slept all night, bar around 10 minutes at 1 and another 10 minutes at 3. That was a total 30 minutes of crying.
So we did it again the next night...same thing. Woke up once in the night at 3, slept until 7.30 am. And tonight...went to sleep after about 15 minutes of crying.
So now who is in control Noah?? ME THATS WHO. Booyaka. Mommas in control.
So the moral of the story is, Controlled Crying can work for you.

Re: Controlled Crying update
This is how we did it too, also at 6 months.
She still wakes up at night, but she is in her crib. Yay for us!

What do you do in the night? Last night I think I slept through some of his crying...he wasn't scarred for life or anything though...mind you, he did spend most of yesterday in a cardboard box!
BUT YAY FOR US...after all that palaver with the sleeping! How is the napping going??? We had been having naps! For around 90 minutes! Either in the pushchair, or on the sofa!!! HOORAY!

It depends on the night, and how she has been doing the nights before. I am bad, sometimes I go to her even though I know I shouldn't.
I try and let her cry for a few minutes hoping she'll fall back asleep, but sometimes it backfires and she totally wakes up, and If I went right away to give her her binky she would have went back to sleep.
Naps are still bad, although she has been napping well at her new daycare (just not at home )
