Well it looks like I am getting a student teacher again.--- UPDATED
UPDATE-------------------
Well my student teacher has been dismissed or will be tomorrow morning.
In 2 hours, she tried to correct me-- incorrectly I might add, in front of my class. She said that she didn't want to work a full day and get this she just TOOK dittos out of another teacher's classroom. So needless to say- that was the quickest student teacher placement I have ever had. I wrestled with it all weekend whether or not to give her another chance but to be honest given the amount of high need children and no support available for them in my school I cannot have her to worry about also or what she might be taking from other teacher's in my department.
So to my fellow LOTE teachers you might be getting a call for a student teacher in the next couple of days!

is having a student teacher that bad???/ Try to remember we all had to do it. My coop tyeacher was AMAZING!!! both of them were actually!

I learned a lot during my student teacher experiences.. I know it's tough b/c you give up a lot, but I am sure the new student teacher will learn a lot from you!

No I LOVE having a student teacher!!!! I just haven't met her and she is supposed to start on Monday. I would've just liked a little notice. I am excited to have one again. I am one of the few that volunteers for it.
ETA- Sorry I should have explained it better in my first post.
IMO Having a student teacher can make you a better teacher. I keeps you on your toes because you really have to very well planned in what you are doing and be able to demonstrate your best---it's just the notice thing I was complaining about.

Hey I was a student teacher from SUNY Old Westbury. I haven't had one yet(untenured) but I want one when I am tenured!

No, it is okay, I hope you didn't think I was attacking. I was just asking because I want to know everything I can. I am sure at one point in my career I will be asked to have one and I wanted to know!!

No I didn't think you were attacking I just realized what I was thinking in my head and what I had written didn't really expain what my problem was with the whole situation.

 Um, WOW. Didn't she realize that as a student teacher she is a guest in your classroom and needs to show a little respect? That's some nerve she has to correct you in front of your class!
