I ask because I just got a call for an interview to be a Registry Manager for a very high-end company, only the hours aren't really ideal....and it's in the city, which I resigned myself to not wanting to go there.

I flat out asked what the salary range was and told her my salary and she said it was fine, and the commute sounded like it would get covered.

I told her I would call her Monday to set something up, should I even bother trekking into the city?

The job does sound cool......

I actually work weekends at my current job but I really don't mind.

if is something you really like, I would do it.

As much as I dont want to, I went for a job that required a weekend or two.

I took it and its about once/ 2x a month and works and in summer, we dont do weekends.

I would go. How many weekends would you have to work? I think I wouldn't mind it. It would nice to have a day off during the week to do things and make appts.

The recruiter didn't say what the exact schedule was, but it sounded like a rotating schedule. But at least 1 weekend day most of the time, she really was unclear about it. And it's retail hours, which I hate!

Re: If you didn't work weekends and a potential job included some weekends, would you even interview?

NO. I just had a baby 4 months ago and weekends are the only time DH and I have to spend with her aside from when Dh gets home right before I put her to bed on weeknights. IMHO, quality of life is more important than $$ to us.

eta: I would not interview because working weekends is a dealbreaker for me.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to work on weekends either, if I didn't already do it.

Re: If you didn't work weekends and a potential job included some weekends, would you even interview?

well at this point in my life, I have to be honest - I would NOT even consider a job where I was required to work any weekends. Just not worth it to me and my quality of life.

JMO ... !
