Bassinet to crib...
When do you move the baby from sleeping in the bassinet to the crib? Jesse is two months old and seems to be outgrowing the bassinet, but someone told me they should go to the crib at about three months. Thanks for your input!

It's really up to you. Some babies never even go in the bassinet. We waited until Kiera outgrew the bassinet and then we moved her. I think most of them have a 15 pound limit.

Re: Bassinet to crib...
We did it at 3 weeks. I have a ranch home so he isn't far and Mommy and Daddy needed some alone time before he leaves, I have a monitor that allows me to view my little guy in his crib and he was used to the pack and play bassinet anyway so the transition was easy. At two and 1/2 weeks he starting taking naps in his crib and since 3 weeks he hasen't been back in the pack and play.
He also was going down at 10pm then waking up at 3 for a feeding then back to sleep by 3:45 then would wake up around 6am.
If he got up more then that or was more trouble to get back to sleep then he might have stayed in the bassinet longer.

Re: Bassinet to crib...
We never used a bassinet. Seemed like a waste of money since they grow out of them so fast.
Sorry I am no help!

Re: Bassinet to crib...
Nick went to his crib at 6 or 7 weeks - I can't remember....BUT I slept in his room with him (there is a bed in there too) for a while after that.

Re: Bassinet to crib...
Claire hated the bassinet from the start, so she has used her crib and the pack and play bassinet from the beginning.

John hated the bassinet, to the point where he would scream bloody murder if I put him in it. He slept in a snuggle nest in between his daddy and me. He loved it. Now we are trying the crib....not a picnic.

Re: Bassinet to crib...
My weight limit on the bassinet was 15 lbs - Kevin was over that at about 2.5 months but I moved him in at about 12 weeks. I wanted to do it right before I went back to work (I went back at 14 weeks) so in case the transition was rough I had some play time. He was colic and woke a lot at night at first so I was in no rush to put him in the crib so that is why I waited 3 months. The transition - I am happy to say - went very smoothly.

Re: Bassinet to crib...
Thanks everyone - sounds like the time is right to try to move him into the crib. We borrowed the bassinet and he has slept fairly well in it, but he is just getting too big for the bassinet and his hands always hit the sides. I'm sure I'll be sleeping in his room initially too!!!
