Has anyone had their baby in their own room since day one of coming home?
I dont know whether or not to have the baby with us the first 2-3 months. The babies room will be right next to us and I plan on getting a glider and putting it in nursery not in our bedroom because our room isnt big enough for it. What is everyone else doing?

Re: Has anyone had their baby in their own room since day one of coming home?
i was going to keep the baby in their own room from the day they came home, but a friend of mine almost lost her 2 month old daughter when she was choking on her spit up, later they found out it was because of acid reflux.
Scared the h#ll out of me and changed my mind. I now plan on keeping the baby in a co sleeper until about 2-3 months, unless he/she makes so much noise i can't sleep at night.

I'm going to keep the baby in our room for the first few months, one reason is I know I'm not going to want to be far from him/her.

I have had the baby in her room since day one, I have a video monitor so I can see everything. She loves her crib and sleeps very well in it.

Ryan is in our room....in the bassinett...(well actually in his carrier in his bassinett) He is 2 months old.... Ive been thinking about moving him into his room, and have tried it a couple of times, but I always end up putting him back in our room...
I cant seperate... I almost wish I wouldve started him off in his own room...because Im really struggling with this!

Originally I had planned to keep the baby in our room, but DH and I discussed it and we would have to move half the furniture out of our room to have the baby in our room.
So we decided that the baby will be better in their own room. The baby's room is no joke about 5 steps from the side of my bed. So we are right there. I would also like to get a video monitor.

We put Sarah in her room from day one. It's right next to ours, and we've never had a problem with her sleeping in her crib. Even with the monitor off I can hear her crying or fussing, with it on I can hear her rolling around and sighing in her sleep.

Re: Has anyone had their baby in their own room since day one of coming home?
We had Alex in our room for the first 3 weeks, but that girl has a serious grunting problem! DH and I couldn't get a wink of sleep with all the noise she makes in her sleep, so we moved her to her crib at 3 weeks. I have a video monitor though, so it REALLY eases my mind. If I hear any strange noises, I just look at the monitor and if I see that she's ok, I go back to sleep...

Re: Has anyone had their baby in their own room since day one of coming home?
Miranda has been with us from day 1. In the beginning she slep in a SnuggleNest between us and now she is in an Amby bed in our room. I honestly have no idea when I'll be able to put her in her own room. No time soon that's for sure. I still can't have her nap upstairs and use the monitor. I am just too paranoid. But she does have reflux and while she hasn't had a choking episode yet I am always worried about what if.
