Another Japanese straightening question...

I've seen that some of you had the Japanese straightening done. I live in Queens, and saw recommendations for Bayside and Woodside locations. I am considering doing this. My hair is getting HUGE already and it's only April. I blow it out with a round brush and use the Chi iron. I am wrestling with my VERY thick, coarse hair more and more. I can't wear it naturally because it's not totally curly...more like undefined, frizzy waves.

Here's my question - I know someone who had the Japanese straightening done, and now her hair hangs down totally straight. I mean, it barely moves.

Those of you that had it done - how do you find the texture of your hair? Does it move around? Does it have body? Do you blow dry it or does it dry naturally?

Thanks so much. I know I don't post often at all, but I would love some feedback.
Thanks!

Re: Another Japanese straightening question...

I did the Japanese when it first came out about 4/5 years ago. My hair looked FANTASTIC!! It was def. flat, but it had movement. I have seen people who've had it done and their hair looks like it's drawn on their heads.. no movement what-so-ever.

I usually let it air dry, but for a smoother look, I woudl dry it with a blow dryer, no brush though!

Good luck!

Re: Another Japanese straightening question...

I have been getting it done for 4 years- my hair was wild, frizzy and over all took 45 minutes to get straight- which it didn't even stay

now it takes 20 minutes max- it's doesn't "just hang" but I think that has more to do with the cut then anything else

Re: Another Japanese straightening question...

I think it has to do with the thickness....
I would think that if you had thinner hair it would hang more... but you said you have thick hair, you should be fine!

My hair doesn't hang... it came out with just the perfect amount of straightness.
And sometimes if I want to go a little fancy-- I'll take a curling iron and do the edges and it looks terrific!
