Swollen ankles and feet?
So soon? I am only 16 weeks and the past 2 days my feet and ankles have been so swollen. If this goes on for the rest of my pregnancy, it's not going to be good! My feet even hurt wearing flip-flops!

Re: Swollen ankles and feet?
Hmmm..... well I remember when my feet and ankles were swollen it was because I was eating salty food, or I was just on my feet for to long and had to lay down and elevate them. Well if it doesnt go away, I would call your doctor and let them check your blood pressure.

Re: Swollen ankles and feet?
Thanks. The last 2 days I have been running around with lots of things to do. Perhaps between that and the heat was the cause.
They are back to normal this morning after sleeping last night...and today I'm just home relaxing, so we'll see if there is a difference. If not, I will call the doctor tomorrow.

My feet started to get swollen at 4 months. I try to avoid salty food. Drink lots of water.

Re: Swollen ankles and feet?
Also, the baby could be sitting on your artery. Nothing to be scared about, but it will make circulation to your feet a lot less productive, which is why your feet may be swelling. I had this happen to me a lot around the same time of my pregnancy as you. That's when the baby is having a growth spurt, and she was so low that it would cut off the circulation. My doctor told me to just lay on my left side to get her off the artery.

Re: Swollen ankles and feet?
when i'm wearing socks & get home from work, i have deep marks around my ankles from where the socks hit. as soon as i get home, i take off my shoes & socks and elevate my feet. i'm six months.
