help me choose which museum to go to!
hey everyone
DH has planned a great trip into the city for me for my birthday - we are styaing over two nights at a hotel and we have tickets saturday night to a show - but that is still a surprise..
sat during the day - we want to go to an art museum - anyone have any idea where to find what temporary exhibits are where or can recommend their favorite museum?

I don't know what is there right now but I love the Guggenheim. It is very unique. And MOMA is great to visit. I have to plug the Museum of Natural History. It is not art but it is a very cool place to visit!

Just went to MoMA recently- it was redone and is totally worth it to check out.
Also, if you haven't seen the new planetarium in the Museum of Nat'l History- that's good too.

I have to agree with the Guggenheim, I just love that place.
A second place I like that is smaller and down the road is the Frick

We went to the MET this past Saturday and headed straight for the Santiago Calatrava exhibit. It was awesome. He has designed the new commuter hub downtown. Then we took 2 guided tours because the place is so big we wouldn't know where to start. The tours were really excellent.... So I would suggest the MET. Although next we want to go to the Guggenheim - I went to the one in Bilbao, Spain and it was also amazing!

Persoanlly I'm not a Modern art fan and loved the Met so much more. There is so much there to see - some many different era's, countries, and cultures to see.
