Re: people with kids:

What is waiting too long?
You are 27, IMO that isn't an age where you should feel any pressure. If i was 27 and just married i would like a year or two to be married...But i am 32 and am feeling the pressure of waiting any longer.

If you are not ready right now, then you aren't ready...IMO you still have time before worrying that you are waiting too long

Re: people with kids:

Danielle (who is 12 years old now) was unplanned. I was 23 when i became pg with her, so i was NO WHERE NEAR "established", but we managed. Sofia on the other hand, (who is now 2 years old)...is from my second husband, my best friend and soulmate - the one I SHOULD have married to begin with, but that's a whole other story..Chat Icon ).....was sooooo planned!!! but we still weren't "established", meaning we didn't have the house yet, but financially we were more than prepared for her. My point is, whether you're in an apartment vs house, have little or alot of money, IMO, I don't think anyone is ever FULLY prepared to have a child because a child changes EVERYTHING in your life. eta: and i wouldn't change a thing about any of my past decisions.

I think this is great advice and its what I try to live by. IMO I dont think there is a such thing as the "perfect" time to have children. It happens when it happens and when it does its a blessing that should be embraced no matter what your living and financial situations are.

Re: people with kids:

Same thing happened to my close friend...SHe was 23 and accidentially got PG. They got an apartment and made it work. They got married about a year after her son was born. And since has had another child while living in the same apartment.
They make it work. They did what was right for them.
They are looking for a house and are finding it extremely hard. but they have great family and friends who are there supporting them!

Re: people with kids:

Sometimes even when you "plan" things don't work out as planned! Scotty was planned...was married, had a house, etc...however 2 weeks later, my husband and I were seperated and all that planning went out the window. But I managed, and I had the best thing in the whole entire world...my SONChat Icon

No matter what, you manage and make do. Like the others have said, there is NO perfect time to have a child.

Good luck!!!

Re: people with kids:

yeah i think thats what changed my mind too. i always thought having my house "ready" was when i would start. by i can imagine that once my house is ready, my bills are going to be double what they are now!

so we figures we can convert one small bedroom into a babies room because how much space do they honestly need as infants?!

and then go from there. like everyone has said, i guess many people are not ready but you work it out anyway ( :

Re: people with kids:

when we had Alia she was so unplanned and in no way we were prepared emotionally or financially. at least I didn't think I was.
We make it work, it's very hard but you do what you need to in order to provide the best life according to what you have. I'm so gateful for my little girl and wouldn't have it any other way.Chat Icon
