At what Age?
Did you start leaving your child unattended with his/her toys in the house so you could shower, etc?

Re: At what Age?
I can't remember exactly at what age I stopped bringing him into the bathroom with me but it was early on...just a few weeks old. I would only leave him in something that he strapped into or the crib. I would leave the door open and monitor on.
It's actually harder to leave him unattended now than it was then because now he can move around alot more.

Re: At what Age?
I can leave Julia alone in her pack and play, exersaucer, and swing. I bring her in the bathroom with me when I shower so I dont have to worry, I just let her sit in her bouncer that shes too big for--hehe.

Re: At what Age?
I think she means older kids that can't fit in bouncys, exersaucers, etc.
Sarah's 11 months. I still shower during her nap, but now that she's moving to 1 nap a day I think I'll have to get up earlier than her in the morning to do it.

Re: At what Age?
Yes...older kids. Jack is 15 months and no longer takes a morning nap.

Re: At what Age?
Jenna (17 months) still takes a morning and a late afternoon nap so I shower at one of those times.

Re: At what Age?
At 5 months I would set Jared up with a Baby Einstein video and take a quick shower. Now I wait until he naps because his naps are so predictible.

Re: At what Age?
Jake is still taking 2 naps a day so I usually take a shower at the 10:00 AM nap. I will have to figure out what to do with showering when that nap goes away

Re: At what Age?
Doreen,
aidan is 20 months and has started climbing out of the pack and play while I shower. I left the door open and caught him.
But I do not feel comfortable leaving him alone yet.
He will play by himself nicely for quite awhile, and I can leave the room but I wouldn't do something like take a shower just yet.
I've noticed a difference in the past two days though that he is not crazy running all around the house just to run as he usually does he is more happy to sit in chair and not a PNP watch a show or play/read quietly.
He is also pushing his naps to later in the afternoon or resisiting all together and getting a cat nap in the highchair!
I think we are in the same WAHM situation and I am always having to tweak our schedule

Re: At what Age?
Today he took a 2 hour morning nap! It is insane...somedays nothing, otherdays 2 hours. Luckily I am not super busy with work during the day, but I fear how I will handle it when it does get busy!
I think I am going to just start putting him in his crib at 10 am like his normal naptime and he he choses to just hang out and not sleep, than fine. Otherwise I will not be able to do anything all morning!

Re: At what Age?
I try to wake up before James and shower...because I feel that he is too old to see mommy in the shower, and he is at an age that he needs to be watched because he is into everything, and climbs on anything that sits still.
