Question about fertility monitor & sticks and recommendations
What is it? Where do I buy it? What do all of you think of it?
I have been using the ovulation sticks and right now I have 2 lines so I have been working on it but same with last month.
The lines mean you will be ovulating within 24-36 hours but its still confusing. I had lines for like 5 days straight last month.
What does everyone recommend?
Sorry for all the questions- any answers helpful and appreciated

Re: Question about fertility monitor & sticks and recommendations
I use clear blue fertility sticks but I just recently went out and brought the Ovuluation monitor, its expensive but worth it in my opinion.
Basically the lines both have to be dark, that means your ovulating. If one is dark and one is light that means your not ovulating. Hope this helps.

Re: Question about fertility monitor & sticks and recommendations
I also recommend the clear blue fertility monitor.. yes its a little pricey BUT it does really help aid in determining your ovulation, since it keeps your cycles in "memory" and gets used to you .. telling you WHEN to test, etc.
The regular OPKs are good also, however, so do not feel like you HAVE to spring for the monitor. You might want to just start off with the OPKS and see if those work for you, especially if you have very regular cycles and will know that you need to use the OPKS on certain cycles days, etc
Good Luck

Re: Question about fertility monitor & sticks and recommendations
I have the monitor and about 15 or 20 test sticks....I'd be willing to sell all for $100....since my RE has been monitoring everything, I don't use it anymore. Let me know if you are interested.

Re: Question about fertility monitor & sticks and recommendations
I highly recommend the monitor, you can buy it at any major pharmacy, or online for a bit cheaper. You have to start it, at the beginning of your cycle, because it's computerized....and will tell you when to test. Once the monitor gets to know you.....it will ask for less testing sticks...and can actually be cost effective...but then again, you have to be using for awhile, and the point is to not use it for long :)
I included a picture of the sticks and how to interpret them without the monitor, they work a bit different than, the regular OPKS. Ideally you want a darker line near the urine for that to indicate the LH surge. If you notice day 15 was like that and by day 16, the LH surge was passing through. The person probably ended up ovulating.....in between those days. Image Attachment(s):
