Re: Similac vs Enfamil
I think depends on the baby. For us, Enfamil didn't agree with Nate. Similac was much easier on his tummy and he spit up less.
There also was a big difference in the Enfamil powder and RTF, in terms of thickness. Nate would not drink the powder. With Similac, we switch between powder and RTF without any problems.

Re: Similac vs Enfamil
I agree it depends on the baby. We started on Similac advance (in the hospital) and we went through 1 can of powder (he basically only drinks formula at night or when we are out). After the first can, I had gotten 2 free cans of Enfamil......the Dr said we could switch and at first he seemed to like it but after about a week, he started to refuse the bottle. AT first we thought he wasn't hungry but then one night after he refused the Enfamil, we gave him Similac and he drank it up.......I gave the 2 cans away and started back on Similac.

Re: Similac vs Enfamil
We tried Enfamil Lipil first and Andrew didn't drink anything. Once we switched to Similac Advance with iron, he had no problems. Both were recommended by our pediatrician...

Re: Similac vs Enfamil
Enfamil didn't agree with Jack so we switched to Good Start which has been awesome for him and if you have a publix nearby it's real inexpensive!

Re: Similac vs Enfamil
Hayley was on Similac Low Iron but we switched her to Enfamil Gentle Ease. Its supposed to be easier on her tummy and supposed to create less gass....but I really don't see a difference (we even switched her to Dr Brown's bottles)

Re: Similac vs Enfamil
I think it depends on what your pediatrician promotes. With my first born, he was on Similac Advance. Now, with the twins the doctor recommended Enfamil Lipil. Thats what my daughter uses, and my son uses the Enfamil Prosobee due to his tummy issues.

Re: Similac vs Enfamil
We had to switch my daughter's formula 3 times until she finally was able to tolerate it and that was with Enfamil. We ended up having to put her on the most expensive hypoallergenic one. I am going to try to BF the next one for the first few months and after that I will try the Good Start. I have heard great things about that one from moms who had problems with the other brands.

Re: Similac vs Enfamil
It definitely depends on what's best for your child. Christopher switched formula a few times. We tried Similac, but he had gas issues and it didn't help, then Enfamil with Lipil, which also didn't help, then Enfamil Prosobee (by Dr.'s orders), which didn't help, then finally Enfamil Gentlease, which made a HUGE difference.
