Stuck between a rock and a hard place
So my landlord just called to say he's raising our rent again which would bring the grand total to about $2k. We live in a great apt but its not that fabulous so DH wants to get out of here asap. We had been house hunting but decided to put it off til the spring until this happened. Do we just buy now or go through the extreme hassle of finding another apt? I don't want to rush into anything but I don't want to keep moving all the time either.

I would always say buy if you can instead of renting and then moving again in the spring/summer... I would start looking for houses now, the prices are usually better this time of year. Good luck!

When do u start to pay more??? I would still keep looking for a house or a new apartment, the prices might still be as high as your paying now..

Re: Stuck between a rock and a hard place
My neighbor is a realtor. He was excellent. He sold the house that we are living in to us...If you want his info, let me know. Also I can look for houses for you. I have found a number of people homes on this site......I found DJ PILL the house he bought. Scott

I dont know if I would buy now and move again in 6 months. After closing costs and moving costs, (just to name 2) you'd be better off staying put even though the rent increase is terrible. You're practically paying a mortgage at that price. If you can start looking, I do agree that you might get some deals as the buyer since its not the hottest time of year. Good luck!

Re: Stuck between a rock and a hard place
You are much better off buying in the winter if you can - the prices are really going to JUMP in the spring, they always do!! - since that is when most people want to buy and move in the summer when their kids are in school - If you can buy - do it sooner than later - GOOD LUCK

I say buy! Prices are pretty good right now. What areas are you looking in?
