Panic/Anxiety attacks
is there a difference between the two?
symptoms?
anyone have a "natural" way of dealing, as in without medication?

Re: Panic/Anxiety attacks
Shana, Also try things as impossible as it is to take your mind off of it...Go bake a cake, read a book, play an online game...something that requires you to concentrate. That has helped me in the past. Or I call someone. I talk it out, but I usually let them talk and ask me questions and stuff. My one friend will just start talking away, asking how my day was etc...That used to help me as well.
Deep breathing helps for some, when I had panic attacks it would make it worse, now Im on meds and the breathing helps, it slows my pulse and helps me feel like I can take a deep breath again. Just dont even think about deep breaths, more or less try to just feel yourself lowering your heart rate and it may take the edge off.
And finally dont worry this is normal. When I was PG with my first I had HORRIBLE pani attacks out of the blue....Its sooo much more common in pregnant women and it should honestly lessen considerably after your Daughter is born, so sometimes seeing a light at the end of the tunnel helps as well.

Re: Panic/Anxiety attacks
I suffer from this as well-- I found that sitting, being bored made it ten times worse the busier I was the less likely to have one. I havent had one since the baby was born and I attribute this to being busy all the time.

Re: Panic/Anxiety attacks
i suffer from these as well.... there are so many things that can trigger one,
red wine used to start them, caffine, doing too much in one day, it always hits as soon as i lay down into bed. i get uncontrollable shaking, cold but flushed in the face, heart palputations, nausciousness, i just feel like i am crawling out of my skin, it's just horrible!!
i usually take a cold shower, or go for a walk outside but sometimes it's so bad i get so exhuasted from it that I just fall asleep.
i hope they calm down and you find the trigger.
good luck!

Re: Panic/Anxiety attacks
I get anxiety attacks often, I am off meds now, but use xanax when needed, I am sure yours are coming from the hormones of being preg.
One thing I do to get rid of them, is positive self talk (I worry SOO much) and keeping busy is also good. Maybe try some meditation tapes? I haven't tried them, but was told they work really well. I hope this helps a little, feel better.
