Anyone own a wide line cape?
I was wondering what the layout usually is like. My FIL is selling this house and wants us to look at it.

usually the staircase is a little off center from front of house, to the left of staircase hallway and 2 rooms to the right living room and dining room to back of house with kitchen
upstairs to bedrooms with bath

We do. When you walk in, there is a little foyer. Then you walk into the living room. To the left, is the staircase. If you go up, there is a bathroom directly ahead, and a bedroom to the right and a bedroom to the left.
If you walk through the foyer and into the living room, directlly behind the living room is the kitchen/dining area.
From the living room, if you go to the doorway on the left, you will come across two bedrooms right next door to each other and a bathroom.
IS this confusing, I hope not!

No, it's much different than a Levitt. I grew up in a wide line cape and really liked it. The description above is good but the LR/DR/Kitchen and the bedrooms/BTH on the main floor can be switched-as was the case in the house I grew up in.

This is my favorite layout so far. The house we saw that I liked most had the LR to the left of the center staircase and the DR to the right, both in the front of the house. The rear of the house had the kitchen behind the DR and a bedroom behind the LR, with the bathroom in between. I have also seen a kitchen/DR combo and 2 bedrooms on the first floor.

We went to go look at the house tonight and we really like it. It needs a new kitchen and a bathroom but the other bathroom is new and the rest of the house just needs fresh paint.
Now I need to sell my co-op!!!
