god parents
did or are any of you not having god parents. I have Three brothers and he has two. we are all really close and I don't want to choose just one. Is that okay to not have godparents. Aren't god parents just supposed to take care of the baby if you both die? What other roles do the god parents have?

Godparents are supposed to guide your child in a relationship with God...

at my church you have to have a god parent - Go to your church and ask them - they gave me a nice booklet with all this information and the role the god parent should have in your DC life.

Re: god parents
We're not naming god parents. Since I'm Jewish and DH is Catholic there will bo no "ceremony." DH has a twin brother and I have a sister- we wouldn't want to pick either of them. We will most likely name his younger sister the guardian in our will.

Re: god parents
Godparents are ceremonial. Their function is to ensure that your child is being brought up in the religion you chose.
They have no legal rights to your child unless you name the same people as guardians in your will.
