Baby shopping help?
I am having a girl! So I am ready to buy girly clothes!
But I have no clue where to start. The baby is coming in december- Do I need all long sleeves, even for inside? What about onesies? and what sizes?
I am so clueless- thanks!

Re: Baby shopping help?
Sarah was born in late Feb. For the first month or so I had her in long sleeves all the time. As a rule of thumb, I was told that you should have one more layer on a baby than you have on. Initially I had her in a blanket sleeper or a long sleeve sleeper with a tshirt under it.
You should def. get hats. They lose a lot of heat thru their heads, and really shouldn't be out without a hat on, esp. in the winter.
I'd have 0-3 month and 3-6 month clothes on hand, but you may not want to wash it all until you get the baby home and have a better idea of what size clothes she will need. We had more 3-6 month clothes figuring that we could roll up the sleeves if they were too long.
Sarah was 7lbs 8 oz when she was born, and fit into newborn or 0-3 months for the first 2 months. I have a friend who's baby was over 10 lbs and he was in 3-6 months after the first week or 2. She had mostly 0-3 month clothes that he never wore, and her mom had to run out and buy 3-6 month stuff.
HTH!

Re: Baby shopping help?
Claire was born in December, and for the first few weeks she mostly wore the newborn gowns, and fleece onesie outfits. I would definitely go with long sleeves for inside and out. I used those side snap t-shirts a lot too because they were long sleeved and had a covering for her hands to prevent scratching and keep them warm. Buy a few good hats as well!
She was 7lbs 15oz and fit into the 0-3 month clothes for at least 2 months.
