Re: Since I have stomach issues (coffee related question)
I would definitely go with decaf
For bad stomach days, you should try fennel tea (for bloating) or pepperment tea (for stomach pain). Of course decaf

Re: Since I have stomach issues (coffee related question)
With my own stomach issues, that was the one thing that I refused to give up. I cut down all the other bad stuff to almost nothing but kept the coffee.
I only have 2 cups (or 1 large) each morning now, where I used to have double that. But if you really can't give it up, you might want to try cutting down and giving the rest of the stuff up?
Good luck with it. I know it's hard.

Re: Since I have stomach issues (coffee related question)
Some companies are now making stomach sensitive coffee - I think Folgers has one and maybe Maxwell House.

Re: Since I have stomach issues (coffee related question)
Caffeine is a stimulant. In your case it could go either way. It could help you go or it won't.
To make my beely feel better I drink decaf green tea. Green tea has lots of benefits.
I also recommend a potent pro-biotic. Something with at least 25 billion active cultures. Make sure it has at least a blend of 7 strains. Sounds scary but it helps regulate the good and bad bacteria in your gut and could get it going to achieve an equal balance. It may take a few weeks until you feel it working, but once it does you will notice.
The self-diagnosing thing will make you nuts. Please call a Gi today and if you need a referral I can help.

Re: Since I have stomach issues (coffee related question)
Tea is acidic and could irritate your stomach as well. I am a big tea drinker but I need to step away from it when my stomach bothers me (which is more frequent than I would like)

Re: Since I have stomach issues (coffee related question)
If you have IBS, then stay away from coffee - caffeine will only aggravate it.

Re: Since I have stomach issues (coffee related question)
I agree, do without the coffee. I have one cup of coffee lately and I'm in stomach agony for 3 days. Not worth it to me anymore. I switched over to Starbucks Green Ginger tea, i'm really liking it and not really missing the coffee. Just got to get over the "hump" and you'll be ok. Tea is just as good.
