Spinoff to College Grads

After reading that topic, I wondered how many do not have college degrees?

Disclaimer **This in no way is meant to put anyone down.***

It just seems like quite a few people do have degrees but I am sure some do not and are doing just as well. Anyone not finish school and have a career they enjoy?

I have one- but my hubby does not- he worked his way up to owning his office branch of a mortgage company- he makes way more money then I do - and is much happier

Well...I have only an Associates Degree (2 year) and most people look down on that...but (not bragging here) I make more than most of my friends/family who have better degrees. I think some of it has to do with the different fields we are in...and some has to do with right time/right place also.

Several of my friends have the associates in nursing and make quite a bit; I think they start at $60,000 or so with the 2-year degree. They are always complaining about their jobs but I don't know anyone who doesn't. The coworkers if not the job itself.

I only have an AA degree, but I am very happy at my job(no complaints at all) and I feel like I am paid a decent amount.

I think I will go back when my kids are in school, it would be a liberal arts degree.

I agree completely. I also have an Associates and also make more than all my friends whow have Bachelors degrees.

My brother didn't finish, and found a job that would pay for his school. He chose to go to a technical school to get the Microsoft certifications and all those other computer things that I don't understand! I am sure he makes as much as I do if not more in his IT job. But I am happy as a teacher.

In teaching, you need a masters, but I'm proud that I earned it. I was the last one out of my friends that was expected to get one, but I think one of the first to do it. So I'm proud of myself. But again, I'm teaching, so I'm not making what someone with just a bachelors could make in another field.

Re: Spinoff to College Grads

I was thinking about this after I posted. I have a guilty feeling about not finishing. My parents HATE the fact that I did not finish. It was something that I did not feel I really needed. I did not mind college, but I certainly did not like having classes run my day.

So when I go back, it would be more or less to say I have one, but I don't think I will feel anymore "complete" because it is done. It is like a looming unnecessary headache to me.
