i called the recreiuter to mind out about the interview that i went on last week. normally he greets me on on the phone as hi gail. the receptionist answers the callers. this time he said steve e.... i asked if he heard anything. he said they'll looking for other people. i was disappointed. then i started thinking, its giving me interview experience. but dh made me feel better, he said its there loss

Re: Update on job interview
That is exactly the right attitude to take. I went on a job interview for the first time in ten years at the beginning of the summer and even though I didnt get the job, I felt very confident in my interview skills. Your DH is right. It is their loss!

Re: Update on job interview
Gail, that is what happens when you work with recruiters. I was turned down for a job today because I was "Over qualified", whatever that means. I am in the same boat as you, and I feel your pain. Just keep looking, and you will find the right job.

Re: Update on job interview
DH went through the job hunt not long ago. Keep in mind that the recruiters are not working for you, no matter what they say. some of the stuff that went on with DH was ridiculous. They are trying to place you in a job, but IMO, their first priority is their commission, not what is a good fit for you. DH was even sent on an interview for one job, when he was told (by the recruiter) it would be for a different, more senior position in the company. This led to a very embarrassing conversation during the interview, and DH was livid.
Don't get discouraged, and keep looking for stuff on your own on monster, hotjobs, and in the newspaper. DH ended up getting offers from 3 companies that he found on his own, and the recruiters didn't send him on any interviews that were a good fit for him.
